About Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a form of manual therapy developed in Japan and rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the application of rhythmic pressure to the body, mainly with the use of the fingers and palms. It is a powerful tool in releasing tension in the body, restoring emotional equilibrium, and in promoting rest and relaxation.
This practice is beneficial for anybody experiencing sleep issues, digestive problems, muscle tension, emotional stress, chronic pain or stiffness, or simply wishing to maintain the health and vitality of their body in all stages of life, including pregnancy and postpartum.
An important component of a coherent, healthy life, Shiatsu is one of many forms of bodywork that can support you. Find out if Shiatsu is right for you by filling out the contact form below and scheduling a free discovery call.
About the Space
Shiatsu is practiced on a futon mat on the floor, fully-clothed and without the use of oils and gels. When appropriate, a chair or massage table may be used.
All sessions take place in a private home studio in Outremont, accessible by bus and metro (location details provided after booking). Free street parking is available without a permit for up to two hours. The studio is located on the third floor, with no elevator.
This is an environment of genuine respect and wholehearted acceptance. The studio is open and friendly to all members of the human family, including – and not limited to – people of the global majority and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
